Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of StylusPDF, operated by Hendrik de Wet, trading as Fortress Engineering ("we", "us"). By accessing or using StylusPDF, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

StylusPDF provides browser-based tools for working with PDF files. All file processing happens in your browser on your own device; we do not receive or store the files you work with.

Accounts and eligibility

You may need an account to access certain features. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, including by attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, circumventing usage limits, or using it to process content you have no right to process or that is unlawful. You are solely responsible for the files you handle using our tools.

Plans and limits

We offer a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Free usage is subject to daily download limits and file-size limits, which we may adjust. Pro removes those limits and unlocks additional features as described on our pricing page. We may change features and limits over time.

Payments and billing

Paid subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. You authorise Paddle to charge your payment method on each renewal. Prices are shown at checkout and may include applicable taxes.

Cancellation

You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.

Intellectual property

The files and content you process remain entirely yours. We claim no rights over them. The StylusPDF name, logo, software, and site content are our property or that of our licensors and may not be copied or used without permission.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any output will meet your requirements. You are responsible for keeping backups of your original files.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or files, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
